From May 13 to 17, members of the Schola Legem Study Circle participated in a short-term Erasmus to Seville.
On May 13, 2024, the first day of the short-term Erasmus to Seville, Spain began.
During the day, the participants of the trip to the Universidad Pablo de Olavide campus had the opportunity to get acquainted with the University and its history thanks to Dr. Anna Karabowicz and Dr. Władysław Pęksa.
The students were given a tour of the campus and had the opportunity to attend a lecture in an outdoor lecture hall.
The students shared the next activity with students from Spain, who gave a presentation on artificial intelligence in the labor market.
After the guided tour and activities, the tour participants had free time to explore Seville.
On May 14, 2024, the participants of the short-term Erasmus trip to Seville visited Cadiz, whose history was introduced to the students by Mr. Władysław Pęksa, PhD.
During the guided tour, the trip participants had the opportunity to see, among others, the Cathedral of Cadiz, or the Castillo de Santa Catalina, and learn about the Cadiz Constitution, or Hannibal’s oath to remain forever an enemy of Rome.
After the scheduled factual part, the students had free time, which they used to try local tapas and swim at the beach 🙂
On May 15, 2024, the participants of the trip to Seville had the opportunity to get to know the Universidad Pablo de Olavide campus in more detail and to expand their knowledge of Spanish and European law during a lecture by Dr. Anna Karabowicz and Dr. Karol Ryszkowski.
The library of the University was visited, where Spanish students are preparing for the upcoming session.
After the lectures and scheduled activities, the students were able to further explore the University campus on their own and get to know the Spanish students better.
On May 16, 2024, the participants of the short-term trip to Spain visited Italica – the city where Trajan and Hadrian were born.
The students visited the fourth largest Roman amphitheater located in Italika and the surrounding ruins of Roman houses with perfectly preserved mosaics, the ruins of thermal baths and Roman baths.
After the siesta that followed the Italica tour, the trip participants took an evening tour of Seville – the program included the Cathedral of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Seville and the Santa Cruz district.
On the last day of the trip to Seville (17.05.2024), students attended a lecture given by Mr. Professor Bernardo Periñan Gomez, Head of Area Derecho Romano.
The topic of the lecture was the right to privacy, the idea of which was already included in Roman law.
The tour group was then officially bid farewell by the tour organizers and lecturers of the host University.
