🟠 Today is the 1st of September, nevertheless we – students – can cherish one more month of well-deserved holidays, so that we can peacefully rest and prepare ourselves for the incoming challenges of the next academic year!
🟠 The law-oriented students scientific association of University of Economics in Kraków – “Schola Legem”, would like to share with you a brief summary of the events conducted within our academic circle in order to encourage the students of the University of Economics to join us and broaden their horizons!

🔷 Schola Legem held a total of three debates in the 2022/2023 academic year, during which topics related to modern technology, artificial intelligence, copyright, cyber security, among others, were discussed. In addition to the futuristic-scientific sphere in legal terms, there was also time to consider the voting age, sociology, psychology and human morality.
🟣 Debate (15 November 2022) – “Who should take responsibility for the actions of artificial intelligence?”
🟣 Debate (20.12.2022) – “Should the electoral/voting age (age of majority?) in Poland be lowered? Why?”
🟣 Debate (29 May 2023) – “Is the AI a threat to the copyright law?”
🔷 All events concerning Schola Legem are reported through the academic circle’s social media, culminating in the official website created on Halloween 2022 – 31.10.2022!
🟣 All of the academic circle’s social media was created during the 2022/2023 academic year and is run by the tireless and persistent Krzysztof Zbigniew Zieliński – Promotion and Social Media Coordinator, Editor-in-Chief and Administrator!
The website underwent a significant “face-lifting” on 27.08.2023 and was enriched with useful features to make it easier to use – including official English translation, dark/night mode, automatic translation to other languages, aesthetic and cosmetic changes (link to a video comprehensively showing the changes: https://fb.watch/mIKjAESgP4/)

🔷 Members of Schola Legem also participated in meetings held at our university – the Cracow University of Economics:
🟣 A meeting with Ernest Bodura PhD of the Institut fur Rechts – und Verfassungschichte of the Faculty of Law at the University of Vienna on pandectics in German legal culture and its influence on modern German civil law
🟣 A meeting with Kaja Hopej MG, regarding the development of space law and its meaning to the modern world, which was organized by the Civil and Trade Law academic circle, also operating on the University of Economics (a link to the event on FB: https://www.facebook.com/events/1137656884295300?ref=newsfeed)
🟨 A beautiful culmination of the 2022/2023 academic year was a trip to Warsaw organized by Schola Legem, which was also attended by students from the Civil and Trade Law academic circle. The trip took place from July 3-6, 2023, under the leadership of the circles’ supervisors – Władysław Pęksa PhD (SL) and Paweł Dyrduł MG (Civil…). The itinerary of the trip included:
🟡 Participation in the Editorial Board of Kultura Liberalna (Liberal Culture) and a meeting with Editor-in-Chief Jarosław Kuisz PhD
🟡 A tour of the Polish Sejm and Senate combined with a short lecture on the Polish legislative process
🟡 A visit to the Supreme Administrative Court and a meeting with judges who introduced the issue of the Supreme Administrative Court’s activities and the importance of administrative law
🟡 A meeting with the Board of Directors of the International Institute of Civil Society (MISO), together with an active discussion on: the passivity of society in light of the upcoming parliamentary elections, the ignored problems of people with disabilities and their place in the formation of civil society, ignorance about the instruments that have a real impact on the political scene in Poland and the local community (including petitions, applications, complaints)
