Debates (21.05.2024) – alcohol and nuclear power plants

✨ On 21.05.2024, another debate meeting of the members of the Schola Legem Academic Circle took place, which was also the last meeting of the 2023/2024 academic year.

✨ There were two debates in full Oxford format.

🧠 Debate topic one (teams 1 and 2):

“There should be no restrictions on the sale of alcohol at night.”

🧠 Debate topic two (teams 3 and 4):

“A nuclear power plant should be built in Poland”.

✨ During the debate, the students had the opportunity to broaden their oratory skills and practise speaking in front of others and an audience.

✨ The supervisor of the “Schola Legem”, Władysław Pęksa, PhD, also took an active part in the debate by providing substantive support for the debaters, and he was a member of the judging panel.

✨ The Speaker during the debate was Ms Gabriela Wąż.

✨ The function of secretary was performed by Mr Krzysztof Zieliński.

✨ The participants in the debate showed great commitment and impressive knowledge of the debate topics – the debating, both in terms of content and technique, was of the highest standard.

✨ There were also three individual speeches that complemented the debate topics and provided a summary of specific themes.

✨ The Scientific Circle “Schola Legem” would like to thank all the participants for their excellent speeches, as well as Dr Władysław Pęksa for his attendance, substantive assistance and help in organising the debate.
