Debate (15 November 2022) – “Who should take responsibility for the actions of artificial intelligence?”

On 15 November 2022, the first debate of Schola Legem in academic year 2022/2023 was conducted. The debate’s theme and title was “Who should take responsibility for the actions of artificial intelligence?”

The members of the academic circle expressed their view on the subject with the usage of legal arguments and confronted their opinion with the rest of the members of the debate and their judgement.

Most of the members of the debate came to a conclusion that the responsibility for the AI’s actions should be taken by the human – either the user of the machine, who misused the AI or the creator of it.

Regardless of it, attention was also brought to the fact, that it all depends on the level of development of the AI, as well as existing legal regulations.

Incoming future was discussed, whose visions were created and shaped basing on scientific pop-culture works and people’s achievements in the sphere of ethics and morality.
